Hi,

In December 2018 I met up with an old pal Rich, he has years of experience in digital marketing and eCommerce. He's also an ex-band mate of mine and we played together with Boney-M, The Real Thing and more.

While discussing options for how to make the school digital, we also looked at the school name, and while 'The South East School of Contemporary Music' says exactly what we do and where we do it, it was difficult to remember and say when abbreviated... SESCM... "Seeesscccmmm" lol

So, we spent the days and weeks over Christmas 2018 thinking about new names and we settled on 'AMP - Academy of Music and Performance'. This would allow us to secure all the necessary domain and social media addresses, and ticked-the-box for being able to remember it too. 

We also liked that the word AMP (short for amplification), is synonymous with contemporary music.

Now we have a new name, new logo and we've also launched our website, which comes with a teacher / student portal and so many more tools and features for us all use. 

It's designed so we can all spend less time on admin and calendar management and spend more time on what we all love doing... playing!!
